Ingredients

2 cups chicken bone broth

1/4 tsp. dried thyme, ground

1/2 tsp. garlic powder

1 cup dried extra long grain white rice

OPTIONAL

chopped fresh parsley

lemon juice

Bone broth rice is a savory upgrade to plain rice that takes just 4 ingredients and one pot. The broth gives it a rich, deep flavor, with garlic and thyme in the background.

One heads-up: the bone broth flavor comes through clearly. Two of our eight taste testers don’t care for bone broth, so this one was an automatic pass for them. If you’re not sure, try a spoonful of the broth on its own first.

Make it your own: stir in a handful of chopped fresh parsley and a squeeze of lemon just before serving for a bright, fresh finish. You can also top it with a soft-cooked egg to turn it into a simple, protein-rich bowl.

1. In a medium pot, stir together the bone broth, garlic powder and thyme, and bring to a boil over high heat.
