Ingredients


1/3 cup honey

1/4 cup lower-sodium soy sauce

2 Tbsp. dark soy sauce or regular soy sauce

6 garlic cloves (6 tsp.), minced

2 Tbsp. oyster sauce

1 Tbsp. Sriracha chile sauce

1 Tbsp. mirin rice cooking wine

2 tsp. ginger, grated

2 tsp. toasted sesame oil


2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs


2 Tbsp. water

1 Tbsp. cornstarch


16 oz. lo mein noodles, cooked according to package directions
(We used two 14 oz. packages of InnovAsian Frozen Vegetable Lo Mein.)

Proof that your slow cooker can make takeout-level food: honey garlic chicken that falls apart, a sauce you'll want to drink, all tossed with noodles. This is the kind of dinner that makes you look like you tried way harder than you did.

1. Combine honey, both soy sauces, garlic, oyster sauce, Sriracha, mirin, ginger and sesame oil in slow cooker. Stir well.

3. Cover and cook on HIGH for 3 hours or LOW for 5 hours, until chicken is tender.

4. About 10-20 minutes before chicken is done, prepare noodles according to package directions. Set aside.
(If you're using the InnovAsian frozen noodles, you'll need to start about 10 minutes before the chicken is done. Heat each pack separately. Microwave them on high for 3 minutes, stir the noodles and cook for an additional minute. Set them aside.)

5. Transfer chicken to a cutting board and shred with two forks.

6. Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl until smooth.

7. Turn slow cooker to HIGH if not already. Stir in cornstarch mixture and cook until sauce thickens, about 30 seconds.

8. Return shredded chicken to slow cooker and stir to coat.

9. Add cooked noodles and toss everything together.

10. Divide into 6 servings. Garnish with scallions and sesame seeds.

Keep the container open a little to allow steam to escape. Microwave on high for approximately 2-3 minutes.
