1 can (8 oz.) no salt added tomato sauce
1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste
1 Tbsp. canola oil
2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
3 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup Cary's Sugar Free Syrup
1/4 cup Splenda
(We used the box that measures cup for cup like sugar.)
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 tsp. cinnamon, ground
1/8 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. black pepper, ground
1 tsp. salt
2 cups onion, chopped 1 cup carrots, sliced
1 large sweet potato (about 6" long or 6 oz.), cut into chunks
3 lbs. eye round steak, cut into chunks
1. Put the first twelve ingredients (tomato sauce through salt) in a 4-5 quart crock pot and whisk together. Then stir in the remaining four ingredients until everything is thoroughly coated in the sauce.
2. Set a timer and cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 6-7 hours. Stir once after 2 hours.
3. This makes 6 servings of sweet and tender beef.
Yield: 6 Servings
You can freeze individual portions for easy re-heating later.
Make sure to freeze them in freezer safe containers.
Microwave for approximately 4-6 minutes, keeping the container open just a little to allow steam to escape.
