Ingredients

1.5 cups whole wheat flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. ground cinnamon

1 cup (2 Sticks) light butter
(We used I Can't Believe It's Not Butter LIGHT!)

1 cup Splenda no calorie sweetener
(We used the box that measures cup for cup like sugar.)

1 Tbsp. Cary's Sugar Free Syrup

3 egg whites

1.5 tsp. pure vanilla extract

3 cups old-fashioned oats, uncooked

1 cup chocolate chips OR crushed walnuts

Yes this is higher in fat, but remember it's a dessert, not a meal.

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together flour, soda and cinnamon and put aside.

2. Beat together butter and Splenda on medium speed with an electric mixer until fluffy. Add to mixture the eggs, Cary's syrup and vanilla. Slowly pour flour mixture in and keep beating until blended.

3. By hand, stir in oats and chocolate or walnut.

4. Measure out dough in 1/4 cup sizes and place on greased baking sheet. (You can also place wax paper on top of the baking sheet for an easier cleanup.)

5. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool and serve.

Yield: 16 Servings
