Ingredients


4 slices of whole grain bread
(We used Sara Lee Heart Healthy.)

3 Tbsp. peanut butter
(We used Naturally More.)

3 Tbsp. sugar free strawberry preserves
(We used Smuckers.)

4 large egg whites

fat free butter cooking spray

2 tsp. powdered sugar

Optional

Cary's Sugar Free Syrup


1. Spread the peanut butter on two of the bread slices. Spread the strawberry jam on the other two slices. Put the two slices together.

2. Whip together the egg whites in a shallow dish. Dip the sandwiches into the egg mixture and thoroughly cover both sides.

3. Coat a non-stick pan with fat-free cooking spray and cook the french toast over medium heat until the bread is lightly browned. Flip over and brown the other side.

4. Slice in half and top with powdered sugar, sugar free syrup or both.

Yield: 2 Servings
